About The Artist
I was born and raised in the Town of Tonawanda, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. I currently live in the house I grew up in. I also have two grown children.
As a child, I enjoyed drawing as any child does. It wasn't until my teenage years that my interest in art began to grow. I would draw pictures and paint posters for my friends and family. I experimented with many different types of media including paints, pastels, and even airbrushing, but I always enjoyed working in pencil the most.
In high school I discovered perspective drawing and took naturally to it. It was the technical, yet artistic elements that intrigued me. In college, I took several mechanical drawing courses and hoped for a career in architecture, but it never came to be. Although my career in architecture didn't happen, I never lost my love for it. I finally graduated with degrees in Fine Arts and Graphic Design. While in college, I became interested in Buffalo architecture and history and was amazed at the structural jewels and the rich and sometimes colorful history we possess here. After several decades, I feel I've barely scratched the surface of what this great city has to offer.
I also started a business "Architectural Portraits in Pencil" so I could sell my work in various local art festivals and venues and I have won several awards including Best Of Show..
