Ellicott Square Building
The Ellicott Square building was the largest office building in the world when completed in1896. It was erected on the
site that Joseph Ellicott saved for himself when he laid out the plans for New Amsterdam (now the city of Buffalo, NY)
in 1797. the title to the property was retained by his heirs for almost 100 years and was subsequently named Ellicott Square.
